Welcome to the 9th edition of Airhorn Army News! 📰 I apologize for not sending these as often as planned, but hey I’m human! But here we go again! 📢 You can read about upcoming Twitch Events, QR Stuff, Featured Members, Poker, Work, Programming, DonkbetBot tweeting Quotes (!?) and whatever I fancy to write about :)

💪 Questje’s Personal Life

  • Work: After a couple of tough weeks my freelance job has picked up again, partly because I spent a lot of time on new Qualifications which gave me access to new projects!🙂 I’m still mostly judging AI models when working on coding-related stuff. I’m mostly using Java & Python and we often get two responses from slightly different models and our job is to decide which response is better. In some projects, we also have to correct the AI (they lie!!) to make the response/code better/ideal which can sometimes be challenging, especially if we’ve asked the AI to make something complicated. But I enjoy it :)

  • Poker: Bit reversed to the work situation, I had a very profitable June & July (around +$1800 over ~1300 MTTs), but August & September have been quite bad (around -$600 over ~600 MTTs). But I’m happy to play a bit less if needed, work is more important and poker will always be there again. I’m still up on the year and +9bb/100 in September according to PT4. So it’s probably mostly variance. And well, more study can never hurt! Speaking of MTTs, check my Upcoming Events section!

  • Weight Loss: I’ve been trying to lose weight this year and it’s going slowly in the right direction! Since March I’ve lost around 14kg (which I think is ~61 lbs!?). I’m still quite obese tho, so I need to keep on going. I want to lose another 10kg this year and keep on going in 2025. I’m walking a lot (follow me on Strava!) and also riding my bike once in a while and doing inside workouts (using some free YouTube stuff haha). 💪 Also, less fast food helps! Who knew!?

🎵 Questje’s ReQuestje’s #16

Last Friday I hosted Questje’s ReQuestje’s #16 which was a great Event of course! I really enjoyed the vibe(s) and we even saw an old OG of the stream back in chat (Chizzy!!). We also celebrated a new winner with Smalltown Boy 🙂 This is how the Top 10 looked:

I’m still debating how I’ll organize the QR Charts at the end of the year. There are 3 Events I can host:

  • All-Time Chart: An awesome chart of all !SR since Sept 2020.

  • 2024 Chart: A pretty awesome chart of all !SR of 2024.

  • QR #17: The regular next edition, this will be hosted anyway but not sure when. Maybe January 2025?

According to a poll I did last Friday people seemed to like the All-Time idea, so there is a good chance we’ll go for that around Christmas time.🎅 Stay tuned! 🎵

Every newsletter I try to highlight some awesome people from the community because I wouldn’t be anywhere without them! This week, I’ve got two! Yes, 1+1 = 2!

  • I’m very happy with Utop26 as the most recent addition to the Mods Team. He’s been a regular for years and seems to enjoy helping the stream run more smoothly as a mod now, and he succeeds big time in that! What more can we ask for? Thanks, Utop! <3 And I hope for many more years to come as we all love you in our chat :)

  • The second Featured Member of the week is VIP Kiribassss*. I know Kiri in real life (and that’s kinda rare for my Mods/VIPs these days haha) and he’s been SUPER supportive of my stream over the last 3-4 years. Always gifting subs and also adding to the hype in chat with great song requests. Thanks, Kiri/Poels and let’s have some beers on Oct 5th in real life! 😉 <3

💻 DonkbetBot Tweets Quotes, WTF!?

As most of you (may!?) know, DonkbetBot is a Chatbot running in the Stream that’s completely built by me! I’ve programmed it in Java and recently I’ve been motivated again to write some updates/new features! 🙂 It already runs awesome things like !Bingo, !Hangman and !Allin (and does !SR/QR magic as well), but I’m always trying to stay creative. Any ideas for new features/games are welcome! Let me know 🙂 

Recently, I’ve been adding a feature where my bot Tweets* out a Quote after it gets posted in chat (you can spawn them with !quote). Could be fun!?🙂 We’ve got TONS of Quotes accumulated over the last 5 years and this could highlight them a bit 🙂 You can follow the Bot account here: https://x.com/DonkbetBot - I don’t think it was a good idea to make it tweet on my main Questje account so that’s why I use this one. And yes there’s an anti-spam cooldown, it posts 3x an hour maximum now :)

📅 Upcoming Streams

Besides the QR Events I’ll keep hosting, these are some other Events as well:

  • 📅 Tuesday, Oct 1st: MTT Comeback Stream!💸
    It’s been way too long since I’ve streamed a proper MTT Session, so let’s start October well and go for it. I’ll likely sell some action beforehand and play a lot of $3 - $25 MTTs. Delay or not? No clue yet! 😂

  • 📅 Tuesday. Dec 31st: “New Year’s Eve 2024-2025” 🍺🍺
    Yes! We’re doing it again: our annual New Year’s Eve Party on stream with Poker, Variety, Games, No Delay, Music and a countdown to 2025 all over the world. I will NOT guarantee it will be another 24-hour stream like last year, but fun it WILL be with GeoGuessr, Skribbl, Whatsamusic, Crashword, Homegames, etc! 🎶

  • 📅 Every Friday: “Rush & Cash Friday” 📢

    Every Friday we have fun Last Longers, C$ Giveaways, and 2NL Homegame Tables to play with the community while I try to win big Cash Drop Pots! Often after poker, we play some games like Crashword. I really love streaming Fridays, so I see no reason to stop :)

I also have an “off-line” Event planned as it’s my Birthday Oct 6th and I’ll be celebrating that in my local (student) bar De Vestingbar🐄 on Saturday Oct 5th. If you can come by you’re welcome (the bar is open to anyone!) but please let me know so I can mentally prepare a bit ;-) The bar opens at 21:00 CEST and beer is pretty cheap! 🍺
