2023 Recap in Stats & Numbers!

Welcome to the fifth edition of Airhorn Army News! 📰 Happy New Year! This first edition of 2024 is focused around some fun end-of-year stats. I decided I’m not going to write down specific goals for my stream for 2024 now. My future (including my streaming/poker/life balance) is just too uncertain for that. But I do know I want to continue streaming, so don’t worry! 🙂

I ended the year with my first ever 24 Hour Stream for New Years Eve. Wasn’t planned that way, maybe that’s why it succeeded haha. Quite the experience! A couple days earlier I hosted the Top 100 Songs of the year in QR 2023. You can read all about it below!

💪 My Streaming Year in Numbers!

My streams didn’t go as smooth as I planned. I had to take a forced 3-week break in May because my laptop failed and the last 2 months I’ve shifted to mostly Variety because of my temporary ban at GGPoker. I have loved the experiment (even though the viewers logically dropped a bit), and I’ll for sure keep streaming non-poker Games and Events in 2024. 📢

Overall, my stream didn’t grow compared to 2022 in terms of Avg Viewers, but the numbers still look pretty good. I also made profit playing poker, so that’s certainly an improvement compared to 2022! Maintaining a viewership and community is certainly a great accomplishment as well, not to mention my chat and Discord are always super active. I’m proud of that! 💪

Some 2023 numbers (compared to 2022) to summarize:

  • Hours Streamed: 957 (2022: 827)

  • Unique Viewers: 23.600 (2022: 25.300)

  • Unique Chatters: 1409 (2022: 1493)

  • Chat Messages: 374K (2022: 419K)

  • Avg Viewers: 31 (2022: 36)

  • Total Subs: 1796 (2022: 1595)

  • New Followers: 1242 (2022: 1580)

We also broke some records as I peaked at 450 (!) Subs in October 2023. 😍

Overall, since I’ve started streaming (in 2018) we almost reached 4000 Followers (let’s make it to 5000 in 2024 shall we) and somehow people have watched me for 7 MILLION MINUTES (118K Hours or 13 Watch Years) and posted 1.7 MILLION Chat Messages! Small streamer? Nah… ;)

You can see in the graph I took a long break in 2019, started again in March 2020 and since then the only break longer than a week was in May (see the gap in 2023) because of hardware trouble. Quite consistent! 😁

🎵 Questje’s ReQuestje’s 2023

Friday, December 29th, I hosted QR 2023! Not a regular 3-month QR (we’ve hosted 13 of those) but a chart with the Top 100 of the Full Year! I was happy to see one of my favourites finally won: Faithless - Insomnia! 🎵 

Explanation of all the columns (if you like stats/charts like me):

  • Points - The sum of Users & Plays gives the score per song.

  • Users - Number of unique people that requested the song.

  • Plays - Number of times this song was requested.

  • #  - Number of regular QR editions this song was in (max is 13).

  • Top - Highest position in any of the QR charts (#1 is a previous nr.1).

🎯 Darts

I’m a big fan of the Darts and luckily lots of my community members are too. We enjoy talking about it during my streams and on my Discord (#darts). Maybe I’ll do some more watch-a-longs of Majors in 2024, but we’ll for sure keep talking about it. It was an amazing run by Luke Littler but he’ll get his trophy some day. Me and Mr_Carps also had an exciting end of the Scorito Fantasy Darts as the last game was the decider and because I went with Humphries I won the Airhorn Army League :)

Furthermore, I agree mostly with the 8 names for the Premier League (even Wright, he’s still very entertaining and a two time world champ!). Sadly I’m not a fan of the knockout format. I hope they go back to the old structure with 8-10 players in 2025. Let me know what you think about the PL! 🎯

🙋 Community Member of the Week!

In every newsletter I’ll highlight an Airhorn Army Member! The Community Member of this Week is: 🙋 SirHennie! 😍 

The first non-Mod being featured, but he deserves praise for sure! He’s been in my channel for 3+ Years and has been a great supporter in my poker streaming journey, especially in the first couple of years. I didn’t make it as a poker pro (yet, if ever) but he certainly made my game improve and gave me the believe to keep going by discussing strategy, hands and also staking me. Not to mention he’s very active in my Discord, in the Top 8 of All-Time Subs of my channel with 38 Months (tied with Mr_Carps) and … he’s the winner of the WCOOP Sunday Million in August 2021 (!hennie).

I’m going to start the year easy, but I still plan to stream roughly twice a week. Stay tuned on my socials and/or Discord to see my upcoming (or last-minute) streams. I hope to return to streaming poker more regularly from mid February, but with the current online poker climate you can never know for sure ;-)
